VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

We endeavor to make your volunteer experience safe and rewarding. Whether volunteers wish to work in our administrative office, or directly with animals at special events, our mission is to provide our volunteers with the structure, direction and tools necessary to contribute meaningful service within the organization. VOLUNTEER MEETINGS

Humane Society of the Piedmont holds a volunteer meeting the first and third Wednesday of each month at their facility located at: 4527 West Wendover Ave., Greensboro. Meetings begin at 10:00am and are open to the public.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNTIES

 Administrative Assistant
     Duties:
            Assist West Wendover Spay & Neuter Clinic staff with             answering the phone, making reminder phones to pet             owners for their appointment on the following day, data             entry, matching and filing paperwork, check messages and             return calls, and make copies.

    Qualifications:
           1.  Be at least 18 years old  
           2. Complete an online application

     Commitment:
          1. A minimum one hour weekly during regular business hours


HSP Ambassadors
     Duties:
            Assist with or give presentations to community groups, attend special events and distribute information on HSP, encourage others to become active with HSP, and be available to assist with additional outreach projects as necessary.

    Qualifications:
           1.  Be at least 18 years old  
           2. Complete an online application

     Commitment:
          1. Hours flexible, work from home optional, nights and               weekends may be necessary


Humane Education
     Duties:
            Assist in gathering educational material and resources,             designing handouts, visit schools, churches and other             venues to conduct the Humane Educational Program on             responsible pet ownership.

    Qualifications:
           1.  Be at least 18 years old  
           2. Complete an online application

     Commitment:
          1. Hours flexible, work from home optional, nights and               weekends may be necessary


Donation Drive Organizer
     Duties:
          This position will allow the volunteer to think "outside of the           box" while helping the HSP obtain necessary materials           and wish list items. The volunteer will be responsible for           the upkeep of dog/cat banks, fund raisers, and other creative           opportunities .We are looking for creative, outgoing, and           motivated people to  help with this position.

    Qualifications:
           1.  Be at least 18 years old  
           2. Complete an online application

     Commitment:
          1. Hours flexible, work from home optional, nights and               weekends may be necessary


Grant Writer
     Duties:
      The HSP is looking for a volunteer with experience in writing      grants to help them with grant writing.

    Qualifications:
           1.  Be at least 18 years old  
           2. Complete an online application

     Commitment:
          1. Hours flexible, work from home optional, nights and               weekends may be necessary

Animal Foster
     Duties:
     Foster animals in your home, offering them tender loving care and a safe temporary home.

    Qualifications:
           1.  Be at least 18 years old  
           2. Complete an online application

     Commitment:
          1. Time to be determined case by case


Pet Mobile Meals
     Duties:
            This position will determine who qualifies for program -              retrieve donations, organize pet shed, delivering food to              those on program, coordinate and be involved in food              drives at venues.

    Qualifications:
           1.  Be at least 18 years old  
           2. Complete an online application

     Commitment:
          1. Hours flexible, needed during morning hours


Transport Assistant
     Duties:
           Load and unload animals, clean carriers organize            paperwork and possibly drive transport truck to various            rescue group location/s.

    Qualifications:
           1.  Be at least 18 years old  
           2. Complete an online application

     Commitment:
          1. Morning hours determined by transport schedule


Bulk Mail Helper
     Duties:
       Prepare mailers by folding, stuffing, addressing, and stamping        envelopes. (Needed approximately twice a year)

    Qualifications:
           1.  Be at least 18 years old  
           2. Complete an online application

     Commitment:
          1. A minimum four-month commitment
