Our Vision
Sharing a common vision and common goals, the Humane Society of the Piedmont has narrowed its focus to spay/neuter services because we believe that this is the most important issue facing animals for the foreseeable future. The clinic was built three years ago and is designed to service the needs of citizens in Guilford and the surrounding counties who want their animals to be well-cared-for and to ensure that no animals come into the world without a home and someone who loves them. The services will make it possible for all citizens, even if they are low-income or have transportation problems, to take care of their animals”.
The Humane Society of the Piedmont’s eventual goal is to eliminate the tragedy of animal overpopulation by increasing the numbers of spay/neuter surgeries to over 10,000 annually. Approximately 8,500 surgeries a year will begin reducing the shelter deaths; 15,000 surgeries a year will be needed over approximately 10 years before no adoptable animal is killed simply because it has no home.
